I visited Dublin in late 2024 to meet my Doist colleagues for Doist connect. Didn't plan much for this one because I was very concerned about the trip as a whole. I was having a medical condition and had to find ways to go for the trip and guarantee everything was OK.

Stay

I stayed in the Kilkea Castle Hotel & Golf Resort, which is a bit outside Dublin, as the whole company were staying there. The place is amazing! SPA, Golf, amazing rooms, you name it. Not a normal stay for a tourist visiting Dublin, though 😅.

Transport

I didn't stay much in Dublin, my time there was a one-day trip by bus from the Kilkea Castle. My other trip was a taxi from the airport 🤷‍♂️

Places

  • The Book of Kells Experience: Located in Trinity College, this is a must-see for history and literature lovers. Loved it! I really like the atmosphere of old libraries.
  • Temple Bar: The cultural quarter. Great for live music, though often crowded.
  • Guiness: I'm not very into beer, but went to there as it's something people recommend to visit. Not sure if it was a good choice for me, but would recommend other people to go.

Food

  • The Old Storehouse Bar and Restaurant: A historic pub in Temple Bar that serves excellent Irish comfort food. It has a great atmosphere, though it's definitely geared towards tourists.
